"Shirt for a Shirt" project beginnings

I began the Shirt for a Shirt project in early 2010 after learning more and more about the youth of the world that were suffering and without proper food, water and clothing. I found this a difficult fact to face and began to focus my time on children in Africa. Without the recourses to travel to Africa myself, I began thinking of possible ways to help the suffering children from here at home.

The idea began when I gathered some of my own clothes and was preparing to ship them to youth whom would value them much more than I ever would. I then thought, "What if everyone could do the same and donate a shirt to the youth of Africa, simply by purchasing one for themselves?" This was the beginning of the "Shirt for a Shirt" project.

The idea is simple, for every shirt purchased, a second shirt is donated to suffering children in need of clothing.

The idea began with Africa, but has now grown to include Central America, South America, Mexico, and even children in need of clothing here in the US.

As of now there are 5 shirt designs and pictures will be up shortly.
